The reference point for the leather area, held in Rho from 20 to 22 February 2019, within the 6 pavilions of Fiera Milano covering a total area of 47,500 square meters, registered a significant participation. The 96th edition of Lineapelle saw an increase in total visitors, over 20,000 units, from 114 countries, a greater number than in 2018.
The 3-day event, where it was possible to view the spring-summer 2020 collections, was also the occasion to take stock of the progress made by companies in the sector in terms of sustainability. The event organized by UNIC, “The Circularity of Italian Skins – 360 ° Sustainability”, therefore wanted to give voice to a series of virtuous experiences, which demonstrate how “the Italian tanning industry has been able to go beyond its own sectoral horizon, creating the conditions for their production waste to become raw materials for other industrial chains, starting real symbiosis with the entire value chain “.
Exhibitors present at the fair were satisfied, this year a slight increase to 1.255 from the 1,254 of the last winter edition, which met customers “really interested: the brands that work well, above all on quality”.
This year’s edition also saw the participation of important institutional offices, such as the Minister of Cultural Heritage and Activities Alberto Bonisoli, who said he was “extremely convinced that the trade fair event is fundamental, especially for an industrial sector like that Italian. In these trade fair moments, companies manage to implement strategies, finding customers and being here, for me, means witnessing how important and necessary this is to remember when making decisions “. In particular, continued Bonisoli, “I wanted to be at Lineapelle because it represents an active part of the entire fashion sector, which is one of our race horses, which draws on the Italian economy, helps us to develop inside and there gives prestige at international level “.
Present at the fair the councilor for labor policies, productive activities, trade and human resources of the Municipality of Milan, Cristina Tajani, who stressed that “following the event for years and it is nice to see that after a difficult economic situation, it has not only maintained the number of exhibitors and the surface, but consolidated its importance internationally “.
